Lifting Crane All-round Maintenance Guidelines

2017-02-23

Lifting crane is widely used in various constructions to lift heavy-duty loads to the designated positions. Crane maintenance should be made at regular basis, which can help improve working efficiency and extend the machine service life. What is more, following the maintenance guidelines can make the crane reduce downtime and create the maximum productivity.

All of the crane parts like steel structure, connective parts and bolts should be checked before the installation to make sure that the components are complete and useable. The rusted parts should not be used since the rust will grow and spread to damage the whole machine. Abrasion will increase with the crane working time accumulating, but proper maintenance can reduce the machine abrasion rate and keep the machine in a good condition. Large-scale maintenance should be made when the machine's service life comes to an end or its working power reduces greatly. There are some signs that indicate the lifting crane needs to be well maintained, such as, too much fuel consumption, severe delay in operating system, abnormal voice and so on. Usually integrate repairing is adopted in the large-scale maintenance, such as removing and replacing the damaged parts with new ones, cleaning and re-lubricating the rusted parts, etc.

Daily check is very important, through which problems can be found and solved in time to avoid causing more damages to the machine. The daily check should cover all aspects including protective devices, wire rope, lifting hook, hydraulic system, electric system and fuel oil. The all-around maintenance should be made at least once a month, which can make your machine full of energy and create the maximum productivity. To make a summary, the lifting crane maintenance should focus on several points, which include checking, cleaning, fixing, lubricating, adjusting and rust-preventing.
