Khadagwasla Dam

Since its establishment, SANY Group has been firmly committed to serving local communities, and assisting in charitable activities, development initiatives and disaster relief. It is guided by one of its main corporate missions: “To make first-class contributions to society.” Water scarcity and water inequality is one of the major concerns affecting India’s overall development. To address the issue of drinking water needs of disadvantaged communities, Amrutdhara Program has been conceived and deployed under the aegis of Sumant Moolgaonkar Development Foundation (SMDF), a social arm of Tata Motors. This program, has been working towards providing safe drinking water across India. The program not only addresses the concerns relating to safe drinking water, but also helps in improving health, fostering gender equality and promoting social equality. The government renders support to complete the project related processes and formalities. Community mobilization and sustainability of the projects is ensured by voluntary organizations. SMDF has their initiative partner named Green Thumb which is a charitable trust, to drive operations to remove slit from a stretch of 22 kilometers along the sides of Khadakwasla Dam in Pune region, to help to increase its storage capacity and conduct tree plantation in the vicinity of the Dam. A Stretch of 10 kilometers (2 meters depth and 10 meters width) has been already been worked upon by Green Thumb and they were looking for 20T Excavator so that the rest of the task is finished with the help of the excavator before the monsoon sets in.
